Primary Framing Systems

Gable Roof Framing System

A gable roof system provides a roof with two sloping sides and a ridge. Available in both clear span and modular (interior columns), as well as with straight or tapered columns, a gable roof framing system is a very economical and flexible design solution.

Single Slope

A single slope framing system provides a building with one roof surface and single-side drainage. Available in both clear span and modular (interior columns), as well as with straight or tapered columns, a single slope framing system is a very economical and flexible design solution .

Lean-To

A lean-to provides a cost-effective means of making a building wider by utilizing a single slope system to extend the roof line of a building. A lean-to must be supported on the high side by an adjoining building column.

Wall Secondary Structural

Girt conditions refer to the method in which horizontal girts are attached to the exterior columns of your building. American Buildings offers an inset girt where minimum air space is provided between the columns and exterior panels, a flush girt where no space is provided between the columns and exterior panels, which offers the maximum floor space, and a bypass girt which makes a continuous run around the outside of a building’s columns, providing an air space equal to girt depth between the columns and exterior panels.
